Final Recipient to Receive a Second Chance to Smile

One Orange County resident to be awarded charitable arch replacements through

OC Oral Surgery’s “Second Chance Program”

Mission Viejo, CA (September 30, 2015) – OC Oral Surgery, led by oral and maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Junil Ahn, will come to a decision for the final recipient of the “Second Chance Program” next week. This life-altering program will restore a full arch of teeth for one local community member. Dr. Ahn, along with Dr. Daniel Cohen of Dentist Mission Viejo, will announce the final recipient Friday, October 9, 2015, at 4 P.M. at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center.

The “Second Chance Program” enrollment period accepted applicants from June 1, 2015 through July 31, 2015. The program received 160 applicants, making the final decision even more difficult than they imagined.

“The Second Chance Program provides us with a unique opportunity to give back to our community that is so supportive of our practice. I am grateful to be in a position to extend this opportunity to a person who is struggling to not only smile but eat and chew food normally and alleviate debilitating pain. Oftentimes, gaining access to essential oral and dental care is out of the reach of some people, a growing issue that many are unaware of in the Orange County community,” said Dr. Ahn.

The program accepted applicants who needed to restore their upper and lower arches of teeth over a 60-day period. Using a procedure known as the All-on-4® treatment concept, the chosen recipient will have their entire arches of teeth replaced with top-of-the-line dental implants that affix to a custom-made prosthesis. The recipient can expect a restoration that retains the aesthetics and functions of natural teeth.

In addition to restoring oral function and a natural smile, the “Second Chance Program” aims to improve the recipient’s overall quality of life by addressing other specific needs such as smoking cessations, physical fitness, and career counseling. Community members interested in becoming a partner in the program are encouraged to contact OC Oral Surgery for more information about participation.

The announcement takes place on Friday, October 9, 2015, at 4 P.M. at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center located at 25925 Camino del Avion, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675.
