The Cal State Fullerton men’s 4×400-meter relay team represented Titan track and field at the NCAA Championships in Austin last week and earned Second-Team All-America honors.
The quartet of Parris Samaniego, Rasaun House, Chris Shiley and Marcel Espinoza clocked a time of 3:06.65 to take sixth place in heat one and 12th place overall after two disqualifications.
With that finish, they earned All-America accolades to cap off a special year for the four student-athletes. They won the Big West Championship in the event and set a school record of 3:05.16 at the NCAA West Preliminaries before arriving at the NCAA Championships.
“They ran a solid race,” head coach John Elders said. “It was one heck of a season for them, and I’m very proud. To finish 12th in the country is outstanding.”
